Very sorry to learn of Jim’s death. I enjoyed my work with him when I was at Learning Resources Service at SIUC and later as I served as the College of Education”s Center Coordinator at both Lincoln Junior High and CCHS. I especially regret that the Covid 19 virus precluded joining him, Butch and John for their luncheon. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Douglas Bedient

  2. Cliff & Jean Hilliard says

We were very sorry to hear the news of Jim’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go to Sherry and the Family. Jim and I taught together for many years at Lincoln Junior High and remained friends after retirement. I especially regret how this virus is preventing us from paying the proper respect to our family and friends upon their deaths as we have always done.

  3. Virginia Appuhn says

My sympathies to the family. “Mr. Pope” was instrumental in bringing the World Wide Web to CCHS. He set up the first network and trained students, faculty, and community members on the use of the new technology. His presence can still be felt at the “new” CCHS library with his careful planning and selection of wood furnishings used there. He will be remembered.
