Jimmie L. Judd, 75 of DeSoto, passed away Monday January 18,2021 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Jim was born October 1, 1945 in Bush Illinois the son of the late to Lizze (Jarvis) and John Judd.
Jim married Janice Hall on November 28, 1970 in Murphysboro, Il. Together they shared 50 years. They had 6 children all together. Jim enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Jim worked as a truck driver for many years. He volunteered his time umpiring little league games and helping cook during the DeSoto homecoming.
He is survived by his loving wife Janice, 3 daughters, Vonda Strandquist and husband Marc of Rockford Il, Sondra Harris and husband Roy of Carbondale, Jamie Turner, and husband Curtis of DeSoto. Two sons, Scott Judd and wife Jennifer of Pittsburg Il, and Charlie Judd and wife Amber of DeSoto. Grandchildren Erica Strandquist, AJ (Rosebell) Strandquist, Thomas Standquist, Abbie (Ryan) Hines, Zach Halstead (Carlie Lane), Gunner Halstead (Montanna Albright), Kelly Harris (Jason Smith), Kyrie (Taylor) Perry, Justin Judd, Braeden Shirley and Tarah (Chase) Taylor. Great grandchildren, Addie Gollhuir, William and Andrew Hines, Fisher, Finley and Berkley Perry, Maverick Taylor, and Walter Strandquist. He is also survived by one sister Fannie Hartung, and brother-in-law Charles Mifflin and Chalkie Hall and sister-in-law Jean Judd, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jimmy Judd, 2 brothers, and 7 sisters. 2 brothers at infancy and his mother and father-in-law.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Shriners Hospital and St. Jude’s.
Visitation will be held Friday January 22, 2021 from 5 to 8 at Walker Funeral Home of Hurst. Funeral Service will be held Saturday January 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Danny Norman and Brother Mike Cox officiating. Interment will be at Dillinger Cemetery.
